Video: Kate’s Garden

The Eagle Eye visited senior Kate Higa’s vegetable garden at her home in Kaneohe, Hawaii.

She started her garden during the pandemic as a way to get out of the house, not knowing that the few seeds she scattered would sprout into a newfound passion. Along the way, an old family friend, Mr. Matsu, became her gardening mentor.

Justin Mayeshiro

Hello, my name is Justin Mayeshiro and I am a senior at HBA. Since I enjoyed the time I spent last year as a writer/photographer for the Eagle Eye, I decided to continue working for the Eagle Eye with the hopes to create even better news pieces this year. After a long year of online school, I am excited to capture the story of our return to on-campus learning. I cannot wait to continue writing works for the student body to read or capture the important moments of school life such as sports and other school events. Since this is my final year of News Production I intend to spend it directing my passions of writing, photography, and videography towards providing the student body with meaningful and informative news stories throughout the school year.
