Eagle Eye Named Best Website

High school student journalists gathered at UH Mānoa on April 18 for the 55th Hawaii High School Journalism Awards ceremony. The Eagle Eye won five category awards, including best website, and came in third place for the overall best-in-state award. Sacred Hearts Academy’s Ka Leo took home the best-in-state title for the second year running, while Moanalua High School’s Na Hoku came in second.

The Eagle Eye was recognized in the following categories at the awards ceremony:

Investigative Reporting – 1st Place
“Cafeteria Theft on the Rise” by Taylor Malinger (’24)

Photo Essay – 5th Place
“A Mad Dash Through the UK for English Class” by Taylor Malinger (’24)

Action/Candid Photo – 3rd Place

Portrait Photo – 1st Place

Layout/Design – 1st Place
