Brant Yamamoto

Why hello there! My name is Brant Yamamoto and I am a senior. I enjoy running Track and Field and have been doing so since 8th grade, participating in sprints like the 100m and 200m dash. I am also a big Game of Thrones fan, and my favorite character since the beginning of the show will always be Daenerys Targaryen because of her dedication and personality (she also has super cool dragons). I also am really into political satires like Last Week Tonight and the Daily Show because they give a different take on news and have very funny segments. At school, you will normally find me printing out assignments in the morning, running, or playing games on my iPad.

Many Americans are familiar with the classic painting of the Thanksgiving table by Norman Rockwell, which shows a plump turkey, roasted to a golden crisp. Though not shown in the painting, images of moist stuffing, deep red cranberry sauce, creamy mashed potatoes, and juicy smoked ham also come to mind when we think about the …

There are many types of workout runs that I do with my Cross Country team. These different types of runs are designed to balance between distance and intensity. This week I will be discussing about the Long sustained distance run. I recommend to do this run if you are just running for exercise because it …

What’s the one place where most Hawaii locals have eaten at? Zippy’s. Their classic Zip Pac and famous chili will always have a place in local culture. I have been going to the Pearl City Zippy’s since I was a child and have always loved whatever new unhealthy dish they make. I went there recently …

The new game from Niantic, Pokemon Go!, has swept the nation racking up 100 million downloads on Google Play alone, and has an average play time of 43 minutes per user, per day, according to SimilarWeb. HBA students have joined the craze and many can be seen gathering in places where certain Pokemon appear. Because …

Hi! My name is Brant Yamamoto and I am a junior. I have been running for four years, participating in both Track and Field, and Cross Country. Although I have been doing both since eighth grade, I hate running Cross Country because I am much better at Track, and mostly run Cross Country for the …

The HBA Go! article you just read is a satire on the people's obsession with the game. This entire article is fictitious. HBA will not be integrating the game into its curriculum.

HBA's JV Gold Volleyball team won the ILH Division 2 Championship title, beating Sacred Hearts in their final match on October 9. The team also went undefeated this season, not dropping a set until their final match. Not since 2009 has an HBA girls JV team has won this title. [one_third] "Even if you are …

"Yes, of course I have illegal apps on my iPad," said a freshmen when asked if he had unapproved apps on his iPad. During the last quarter, a good number HBA students like this freshman received demerits for having unapproved apps on their iPads. School-issued iPads are great tools. Students use them to take notes, …

Cross Country season has started, and the coaches and runners are all excited for another year. This year's team has over 100 runners, and almost half are new to the sport. Junior Sarah Uehara is one of the 18 new high school runners. "I quit volleyball this year and I wanted to do a sport, …

It's a mission 19 years and counting. Hanging off the side of a plane, Tom Cruise plays the role of IMF agent Ethan Hunt in his new movie, Mission Impossible: Rogue-Nation. While investigating a secret, rogue terror organization known as the Syndicate, Hunt's suspicions are confirmed as the IMF disbands and the Syndicate pounces at …
