Day 5: Black Gold and White Day, All School Cheer, and Platform Jam

On the final day of Spirit Week, students dressed in black, white, and gold to model the school’s colors.

Friday was each grade’s final opportunity to earn points, and students scrambled to donate money to the NHS Ho’ola Na Pua fundraiser and prepare for that day’s assembly, where they competed in the All School Cheer and the Platform Jam. For the cheer, classes were all assigned an identical cheer and then tasked to develop their own versions. For the Platform Jam, grades attempted to stuff as many students as possible on small platform in the middle of the gym.

Students were also treated to a special presentation by the varsity cheerleading team and a visit by the school’s mascot: Endurance the Eagle.

Final Spirit Week Results will be posted with the after the Homecoming Game.

I see you've clicked on my name, so Hi! I am a senior and a part of the class of 2018, the best class ever. I am the Editor in Chief of the Eagle Eye, and this is my third year on the news team. I am a part of Science Olympiad, Model UN, HBA’s It’s Academic team, and a few more clubs. Outside of school, I am also a Boy Scout and I volunteer quite a bit through my church and other organizations. I took News Production because: 1. I’ve always had an interest in print, video, and photography media; 2. I've always felt that journalism is a much needed part of our society; and 3. I liked the way “Reporter Joel Lau” sounded. I plan to pursue a degree in Journalism and possibly a career in it also.
